We all like to put on the glitz during the Christmas period, but everything has gone topsy-turvy in the fashion world this season and if you really want to be right up to date you will find yourself wearing some form of metallic glitter and shine this summer, be it the merest sprinkle of sparkle or the full-on sci-look.

This trend for futuristic fashion was first seen on the catwalks in all the top designer shows and has now made its way through to the high street, so you'll be able to look at your fashionable loveliest without having to spend a fortune.

Gold and silver clothes will be seen everywhere. Silver is sometimes a little easier to wear than gold, but there are plenty of other metallic shades from bronze to pewter to choose from, so there should be something to suit everyone.

Accessories too will sparkle and glitter with everything from flat pumps, to high heels, belts and bags – the bigger the better, of course – and not forgetting that all important jewellery. Just a touch of shine will really finish off a look this season and if you can afford it why not go for the real thing?
